In his statement, sergeant Sergeant Sedat Öcal, who stated that he fainted after being punched in the cheek level on his left lip and opened his eyes in the hospital, had 10 stitches in his mouth. Öcal's lawyer, Murat Altay, said they would file a lawsuit.

An expert sergeant named Sedat Öcal, who was working in the Kumlu Base Area in Hatay, filed a complaint saying that he was battered by petty officer sergeant E.Y.

In a short video taken right after the incident, Sedat Öcal, whose mouth and nose was seen to be covered in blood, says the name of the petty officer who struck the blow that put him in this state.

According to the information obtained, Öcal, who was beaten on the top, was taken to the hospital. In the photograph taken after the first intervention, it was noted that Öcal's lip, which had been stitched, was swollen.

"I said, 'There is a report that it cannot carry heavy loads,' and I was attacked"

After his examination at the hospital, Öcal, the petty officer who battered him, E.Y. complained about.

Öcal, who made a statement to the gendarmerie, described the incident as follows:

On May 2, 2022 (today) around 9.40 am, we gathered in the meeting area in Kumlu Base Area by the order of infantry petty officer sergeant İ.K. Infantry Petty Officer Staff Sergeant E.Y gave me orders for the district and digging and shovel work. I said that I have a report of 'cannot do sports, cannot carry heavy loads'. The person named E.Y said, "I'm a petty officer, I'm a superior, you will do it while I'm doing it" and asked me to give it to me. Even though I gave it, he grabbed my collar and said, 'who are you, you will do what I say' and punched me, where my left cheek met my lip. hit the spot once, I fell and fainted at that moment.

Öcal continued his statement, "The person named M.A., with whom I worked in the same barracks, took me to Kumlu State Hospital with the vehicle of the brigade. When I opened my eyes, I was in the hospital.

In the diagnosis section of the referral report given by the hospital to Sedat Öcal, who was referred to the Emergency Medicine Department of Hatay Training and Research Hospital by Kumlu State Hospital on the grounds that he was not a physician of the relevant branch, the phrases "Beat, hit, kicked, twisted, bitten by another person" took place. .

Speaking to Independent Turkish about the incident, Sedat Öcal's lawyer Murat Altay noted that no one has the right to unjustly hit or batter anyone.

Emphasizing that the incident happened before the eyes of 10 eyewitnesses, "10 stitches were taken to close the wound in Mr. Sedat's mouth. My client made his first complaint to the gendarmerie. I am on the way to Hatay. Tomorrow we will start the case process by filing a complaint with the prosecutor's office. Nobody should think that the sergeants are orphans." he said.
